2020 Annual General Meeting TELECONFERENCE

Like so much of the world around us, it is a time of rapid change … and rapid adaptation. YCS always tries to maintain its agility to fit these changes.
So, it is with our Annual General Meeting. Although, not the most exciting aspect of your organization, it is an important time to look at the past year’s activities and to choose people to lead the organization into its next year. And to do that we need your help.
We had planned a meeting at the Whitehorse Library on Tuesday, March 24 at 6:00, hoping to bring out 20-30 members to help us with this task. But with the corona virus outbreak and advice from the Territorial Medical Officer of Health, we are adapting to a ‘virtual’ AGM.
The AGM Chair (Meagan), Executive Director (Davon), Administrative Manager (Joan) and Treasurer (Jared) will be present at the YCS office but we are asking everyone else to call in to the YCS conference calling service. If you have not used a conference call service before, it’s simple – you dial an (888) number (see below) and, when the system answers, you dial in the ‘participant’s code’ followed by the # sign. That gets you connected.
During the call, if you want to ask a question or make a comment, wait for a break in the conversation, identify yourself, and speak (as briefly as possible). Meagan Christie will be chairing the meeting and, if you have a question, will direct your question to the most appropriate person.
If you are planning to call in, please send an email to email@example.com by Friday evening, March 20 stating your name and that you will join by phone. You may also call the YCS office (867-668-5678 ext 2) to let us know you plan to attend. A message may be left after hours as well.
TO JOIN THE AGM CONFERENCE CALL:
- Call 1-888-289-4573 at 5:45 pm on Tuesday, March 24.
- Enter the participant’s code 477-4417 followed by #.
- You will be added to the call and may be told that the ‘moderator hasn’t joined yet’.
- Just before 6:00, the Moderator (Davon Callander) will join the call.
- There will be a role call based on those who have sent in emails or phoned Joan in advance.
- Others who did not get their name on the role call list in advance of the AGM can announce themselves after the role call is complete.
- Be sure to clearly identify yourself if you speak or ask a question.
- If your call is disconnected, please hang up and call in again following the same steps.
This will not cost you anything and will help insure that we have sufficient members to reach our quorum (minimum 12 people). Thanks for your help.

We warmly invite you to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of YCS to be held at 6pm on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.
We will be reviewing 2019, looking ahead, and electing new Board members. This link provides the agenda and 2019 minutes and they are also viewable at the YCS office (302 Hawkins St).
This year we are looking for several new Board members, particularly those with a background in governance (i.e. senior executive or management). Being a Board member requires attending a monthly Board meeting, as well as taking part in occasional or regular committees, reading decision documents, researching issues of interest, or assisting staff with new projects.
