Vote for the Environment
2016 was a crucial year for the planet's health. Wilderness and wild animals are disappearing at an alarming rate, and we have to take action now to live more sustainably before it's too late. Here in the Yukon, the environment is a huge part of what makes this territory a great place to live and work. We put the environment at the top of the agenda for the Yukon territorial elections on Monday, November 7, 2016: according to polling, the Peel Watershed was the second most important election issue after economic development.
The Yukon Conservation Society collaborated with CPAWS Yukon on an environment survey that was given to all territorial parties. You will find the questionnaire with the parties' answers below in the Documents section.
All-Party Election Forum on the Environment
YCS and CPAWS Yukon hosted an environment forum on October 18, 2016. Party representatives answered questions from local environmental organizations including the Yukon Fish & Game Association, Ducks Unlimited, Trails Only Yukon Association, Yukoners Concerned, CPAWS Yukon and YCS. Audience members also asked questions. To view the full recording of the event on YouTube, click here or watch below.
