Registration for the ETS project - closes on Earth Day
As spring finally arrives in the Yukon, so too does a new fiscal year for the electric thermal storage (ETS) project. The project’s first year was a smashing success, with over 250 applicants and 30+ participants signed up! We’ve had over a dozen installations, with those who had their installations last fall and over the winter been nice and cozy through the coldest days.
As the project approaches capacity, we are announcing that registration will be closing on Earth Day – next Thursday, April 22nd at 12 pm – exactly one year after registration opened. So now’s your last chance to see if you qualify for a total of up to 100% coverage of eligible costs for the cleanest heating system in the Yukon! That is, unless you’re interested in having an air-source heat pump (ASHP) installed with ETS as the back-up heat source for extra cold days. The ASHP-ETS combination provides high-efficiency heat down to around ‑25°C with the ASHP then heat generated with renewable energy below that temperature using the ETS. Our ETS-ASHP program, which offers $10,000 in funding plus a total of 100% of eligible ETS costs, will remain open beyond next Thursday’s closure of registration for the ETS project. So if you’ve been curioius about the ETS project, be sure to register on our website by next Thursday! If you’re interested in the ETS+ASHP combination, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at 867-668-5678 ext. 6.
