Party for the Peel

In September 2019, YCS, CPAWS Yukon, the First Nations of Na-Cho Nyäk Dün, Trondëk Hwëch'in, Vuntut Gwitchin, The Gwich'in Tribal Council, and Teet'lit Gwichin hosted a celebration in Whitehorse to celebrate the incredible achievement of the completion of the Peel Land Use Plan.

Peel Watershed Portrait Exhibit

In 2018, the Yukon Conservation Society, CPAWS Yukon, the First Nation of Na Cho Nyäk Dün, Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in, Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation, and the Teetl’it Gwich’in Council co-hosted an exhibit to honour the journey and the people involved in the protection of the Peel River Watershed region. The Whitehorse exhibit was dedicated to the memory of CPAWS Yukon’s founding Executive Director, Juri Peepre, who was the driving force behind the early public campaign to protect the Peel Watershed.
